Ryanair fly directly into Zaragoza from Milan (Bergamo) and London (Stansted)which is inexpensive and good value in my view, watch the weight of your luggage though! You can get a good flat for €40 per week. The faculties are spread out all over the city but there is a very efficient and cheap bus network.

The golden rule to learing a language is intergrating yourself into the local culture, making local friends and going out with them. Working in a job that allows you to speak with people (co-workers and customers) is a great bonus.

Avoid if at all possible opening a bank account in Spain as you must pay a fee to open it and they are very expensive to run thereafter. One can withdraw money when in Spain from their home bank account but talk to your local bank beforehand.

The Casco Viejo is a must for anyone who is in Zaragoza at the weekend. Everything gets going around 12 midnight and the party continues right through the night and the small intimate streets are heaving with revellers. El Picadillo, a tapas bar, is one of the best of its kind in the city which calls itself the tapas capital of Spain.
