The University is fairly good but i cannot complement the city of Zaragoza enough. It is superb. Forget the the Costa Del Sol, go to real Spain, go to Zaragoza!!!

Ryanair fly directly into Zaragoza from Milan (Bergamo) and London (Stansted)which is inexpensive and good value in my view, watch the weight of your luggage though! It is good to arrive in the city a few weeks before your course starts as you can get used of the place. accommodation is easily found, check the notice boards in the main campus. You can get a good flat for €40 per week. The faculties are spread out all over the city but there is a very efficient and cheap bus network.

Recommandations de cours
Avoid studying accounting subjects if possible as they use a different accounting system there comapred to the one we use here in Ireland and Britain.

Commentaire personnel
Take plenty of time when choosing your subjects as the teaching methods of some may not suit students who do not speak Spanish fluently. Speak with the respective lecturers about this before choosing subjects. Subjects which involve groupwork and interaction with native speaking students are much more conducive to learning the language quicker.

The golden rule to learing a language is intergrating yourself into the local culture, making local friends and going out with them. Working in a job that allows you to speak with people (co-workers and customers) is a great bonus.

As a general rule Spain is a cheap country to live in. However, you will pay a lot more in Madrid and Barcelona and in the tourist resorts. Mobile phones costs are probably most expensive than at home. The reason i spent more on travel is because i travelled all over Spain, it is such a beatiful and diverse country one has to do it. Generally travel is far cheaper than Ireland, €0.45 for the bus in Zaragoza and €1.30 in my home city- no comparsion!

Avoid if at all possible opening a bank account in Spain as you must pay a fee to open it and they are very expensive to run thereafter. One can withdraw money when in Spain from their home bank account but talk to your local bank beforehand.

Logement
Type de logement: Appartement/maison
Organisé par: Indépenant - choix personnel
Si j'y retournais je choisirais: Appartement/maison
Pourquoi?
Because you live with natives and you can practice speaking with them and learn about their culture. Also, you have more independence and one can come and go as they plase and eat when one wants.

The Casco Viejo is a must for anyone who is in Zaragoza at the weekend. Everything gets going around 12 midnight and the party continues right through the night and the small intimate streets are heaving with revellers. El Picadillo, a tapas bar, is one of the best of its kind in the city which calls itself the tapas capital of Spain.
