Portuguese is really hard to learn in 5 months. the best option is to take a beginners course before you come to Portugal. There you can improve easily in two months by practice. And most of the Portuguese people don't speak Enlish so do not trust in you English Skills.

Easy to learn because of the courses for Exchange Students. Better to take courses if u can find a teacher before.
