“University of Minho, the Department of Humanities (ILCH) from a foreign student perspective”

Overall
I am doing a two-year Master Degree programme. My programme is supposed to be in English. However, there are very few classes in English (at least, in ILCH), so I have to take some classes in Portuguese, which is a bit of a problem for me as my Portuguese is very basic.
The general organisation of the academic process is not at the level I would have expected. Everything is done at the very last minutes, Academic Services work terrible (no support at all), the library is not really good. On the bright side there are some great classes for digital humanities students (but for that you have to know Portuguese). The university language centre is quite good, so you can enrol into a Portuguese class. I also like the campus area because of its vibrant youth atmosphere and splendid vegetarian restaurants.
