I travelled quite a bit around Italy. I didn't go out that much in Bergamo (through lack of nightlife!) and phonecalls to home made my phone bill more than usual, but in other areas I didn't notice that much of a difference. Eating out is cheaper though!

Shopping for food is more expensive but fashion is much cheaper. Furthermore I did travel much more because I wanted to see more of the country.

Italy was generally cheaper than the UK but calling the UK meant my phone bill was huge especially as we couldn't get a landline as we were foreign!
