If you have the opportunity to got to a foreign country, Spain in particular, then enjoy yourself as much as you can. It is much cheaper than the UK and it will be a shock when you get back to the UK and having to pay lots more for everything!

Traveler's cheques are always a safe bet. Follow the exchange rate before leaving and during stay. Not as applicable now with Euro, but it still fluctuates some.

1. If you want to have spanish banking account they will charge you 30e - even though you want to have a student one, they charge everyone who is not 'spanish'.
2. they also charged me everytime when I had to withdraw money from my polish account there - and it was not 1e... sometimes 8 sometimes 9 - till now i don;t know why.
