Because most people didn't speak any other language than Spanish you really had to speak it. You really had to put effort in learning the language.

difficult the first days,when I had to look for a flat,but fantastic to learn one more word(in every language) everytime I spoke with somebody

Before I came, I was speaking badly spanish - better in writing or reading than speaking.
After 3-4 months it was incomparable better :)

at the beginnig , it was quiet difficult to speak o undrstand something but with the time,it's very easy to learn and speak
