The University and the campus are situated pretty far from the city centre, so I didn't go out that much. Mostly we were gathering with friends in somebody's appartment.
Because this is a great opportunity to meet new people and to practice languages

It was a very nice flat which a shared with other 3 girls. My room was clean and fresh and light. The building was very calm comparing to the others, so I didn't have any problems with noise when I had to study.
All the prices in Finland are much higher then in Russia. Sometimes the grant was not enough to cover all the expences, so I didn't call that much myself in order to save some money. As for travelling, I don't have much opportunity to travel from home as there are always many problems with visa. My course in Oulu included the trips to Estonia, Sweden, Norway and all over Finland for free, but we still payed the food and transportation in the cities.

The language of instruction was English so all the exchange students spoke English. Most of Finnish people speak English fluently, so I never had a problem understanding another person.
I took different courses at the University. I was studying Scandinavian Studies, Marketing, English Literature and French language. All of the courses were great and the teachers were very helpful and knowledgable.
