Finnish is a very different language, pretty hard to learn. But even if you don't speak it, it won't be a big problem to live Finland (the knowledge of English there is pretty good)

Food in the shop is basically expensive so it is often much cheaper to eat at uni caffeterias, since they are subsidized.

Tampere is the second biggest city in Finland, so it's not a small village. You can find theatres, cinemas, a lot of shops, cafeterias, etc. But it's not a big city neither. You can find a lot of green there, woods with beautiful lakes. Sometimes you miss sun there, but the winter is marvelous. As for the trips go to Tallin, Lapland and St. Petersburg!!

In most cases very good, one apartament is shared by 3 people, 3 rooms for each one, a lot of place, kitchen and bath is shared

Cafe Europe - on the first floor there is a pub and on the second floor you can find a disco. The music can be better, but it is the most common place for international students. Wappu - at 1rst of May a huge whole city party - everyone has to get drunk ;) - special atmosphere!!
