Language was not a problem for me and was so nice to know that my english language was helping American students, with the different vocabulary and literary differences. Communication on the whole was easy and not a problem and people here are very interested in finding out more about you and your country

Academic
Course recommendations
I am studying liberal arts here at WSU, the criminal justice courses are really good, being an English student from home was hard here to adjust from the different teaching but you definately benefit from the close discussion that you are expected to participate in. Would definately recommend doing an English Literature class

I wish I had known...
I wish i had known the true distance from things, coming from a small country i underestimated the time if takes to travel around the United States.

Final comments
If you come to WSU, spend time in organising going to califdornia and Seattle , I feel in love with both of these places and think that if you are from England if you like London you will love Seattle. Be ready to be exhausted with meeting people it is very challenging but so worth the rewards six weeks in.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
The age difference here is a big culture change from anyone who has lived in the United Kingdom. If you are under 21 the drinking laws are very strict. Being 21 I would like to be able to drink in my room, am allowed but only am allowed three people in my room at a time and they have to be 21 or over.

I live on what is called "The Hill" halls, these are by far the nicest on campus and the situation of them is fantastic. The residence hall is close to all classes and the building is fantastic , with big rooms and nice areas to work and socialise.
