Personal comments
College accomodation has to be paid for 6 months in advance - my parents had to help me out there.
There is a monthly bus ticket for all Waterford, and student discount on maný other services - just ask.
For plane tickets - check out usit.ie, a student travel provider

Academic
Course recommendations
As an Erasmus student you can pick single courses from every field of interest, and you don't have to decide until a few weeks after start of studies. Use those weeks, visit as many classes as possible, talk to the lectures, before you decide which courses you really want to take. But timetables change a lot in the first two months, so your carefully selected personal timetable might just collaps like a house of cards and you'll suddenly have overlapping courses or long breaks between classes.

Personal comments
There were more than 100 Erasmus students, more than half of them from Germany and Austria - some days you did not get to speak English at all... but apart from that Ireland is a great place to learn English

Personal comments
Horrible. Housing in Waterford is expansive, many houses are cold and damp - in fact many residents in my dormitory developed a bad cough. Private housing is generally better, but not great compared to continental standards. But even if the rooms are a problem, Linda, head of the accommodation office is very competent and always willing to help - also if you want to find private accommodation
