Historical sites are all over the place. The DMZ at the border between North and South Korea was pretty intense. Seoul is really cool, everything is there. Pusan and Jeju Island are two other (of many) neat places. Nightlife in the cities is fun, taxis and buses all over the place too. Korea really isn't very large, travel around as much as possible. Subway, bus, and train are good ways to travel. Trips to neighboring countries are fairly easily also.

The dorms are pretty small, kinda costly, and have no elevator either (at least not when I was there).

Don't take too much with you or accumulate too much while you are there .It's a hassle to carry it all and you might have to pay a fee at the airport, or pay a lot to ship it home. But that is probably the same for wherever you go though. Housing near the university can be expensive, but if you search around you might be able to find a good deal. Overall costs weren't too bad there.

Have fun, travel, meet people, enjoy the different culture, learn, and keep up with the studies. The people are pretty friendly there. South Korea is extremely wired too, which is really convenient. Can only pay cash for a lot of things (even cell phone bill for me). If you need cash, take out money infrequently but in large sums from atm to avoid the transaction fee. Can get a bank account at Woori Bank too if you need. Watch out for crazy traffic in the busy city areas .It can be pretty bad in Seoul. Probably there is much more to know, but I can't think of it right now~

Had to study the language for a year before going there. Studied while there too at the language institute. Being immersed in the language and attending language classes there helped me pick it up a lot. Wish I could have stayed longer because it takes more time to become fluent.
