CONTEXT
Several metals that are essential for our production process, are originated from raw minerals that could potentially come from mines where the extraction or processing of these minerals has a negative impact (Tantalum, Tungsten, Gold, Tin, Cobalt, Aluminum, Copper, Magnesium, Lithium).
Since 2007, ST is member of the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI), which is the world's largest industry coalition addressing responsible mineral sourcing issues in their supply chains.
We have put in place a due diligence process based on the OECD Due Diligence Guidance. This process is audited by a third party. We yearly report on our due diligence.
Our team is working closely with suppliers to make sure we are using only minerals extracted on a responsible way.
MISSION
The Responsible Minerals VIE participates in the Responsible Mineral Initiative (RMI) consistent with OECD guidelines for multinational enterprises and more advanced Customers requirements.
