Mission:
Schneider Electric is looking for an enthusiastic Junior Application Design Engineer (Engineer I, Electrical Systems Design) to join our engineering team. This position offers an excellent opportunity to develop technical knowledge and gain practical experience in the design and application of 11kV Genie-EVO switchgear solutions. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of experienced engineers while contributing to customer projects.

Responsibilities:

* Assist in the creation and modification of engineering drawings using ePLAN.
* Support the development of application-specific switchgear designs.
* Prepare and update engineering documentation and project records.
* Assist in the preparation of Bills of Materials (BOMs).
* Support protection relay configuration and testing activities under supervision.
* Help ensure designs meet customer requirements and engineering standards.
* Participate in team meetings and project reviews.
* Learn and apply company engineering processes and best practices.
* Draft engineering drawings and wiring diagrams (core deliverables).
* Basic design documentation packages (core deliverables).
* BOMs and engineering data updates (core deliverables).
* Technical documentation maintained in accordance with project requirements (core deliverables).

Skills & Attributes:

*
* Basic understanding of electrical engineering principles.
* Familiarity with AutoCAD or willingness to learn electrical design software.
* Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.
* Good communication and organizational skills.
* Ability to work collaboratively within an engineering team.
* Degree, HNC/HND, apprenticeship, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering (preferred).
* Placement, internship, or graduate experience in engineering (preferred).
* Interest in medium-voltage switchgear and power distribution systems (preferred).
* First engineering experience (preferred).

For this UK based position, the expected pay range is GBP 35,200 - GBP 52,800 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United Kingdom. Our pay ranges are determined by the local market.
