Job Description

Purpose of the role
To manage regulated activity and set the strategic direction. Provide support to the bank's senior management team, and to manage regulated risk across the organisation.

Accountabilities
* Development of strategic direction for regulated activities, including the implementation of up to date methodologies and processes.
* Management of regulated activities, including oversight of colleagues and their performance, implementation of departmental goals and objectives, oversight of Business Area efficiency and effectiveness.
* Relationship management of regulated stakeholders, including identifying relevant stakeholders, and maintenance of the quality of third party services.
* Development and implementation of policies and procedures for regulated activities.
* Management of risk, including identification of potential risks, development of strategies to mitigate those risks, and maintenance of alignment between the bank's regulated activities and compliance functions.
* Monitoring the financial performance of regulated activities, including Growth, Quality and cost control.
* Conducting thorough market research to understand market trends, competitive landscape, and regulatory changes to identify market opportunities.

* Consult on complex issues; providing advice to People Leaders to support the resolution of escalated issues.
* Identify ways to mitigate risk and developing new policies/procedures in support of the control and governance agenda.
* Take ownership for managing risk and strengthening controls in relation to the work done.

* Engage in complex analysis of data from multiple sources of information, internal and external sources such as procedures and practises (in other areas, teams, companies, etc).to solve problems creatively and effectively.

Join us as a Mortgage Team Leader at Barclays, where you will help shape the future of banking by being responsible for leading a team of Mortgage Advisors, providing ongoing support, coaching, and development to ensure exceptional customer service. This role operates as a first-line supervisor in a regulated mortgage environment, ensuring compliance, meeting regulatory deadlines, and delivering business performance across all areas of the balanced scorecard. Success in the role depends on being a technical expert in mortgage advice, able to lead advisors effectively, drive frontline change, manage delivery, and lead confidently through transformation within an emerging regulated context.

This role would require travel across London and the wider South Region, within branch and corporate offices as a requirement.

To be successful as a Mortgage Team Leader , you should have experience with:

* Confidence in presenting to internal and external stakeholders, with excellent communication skills.
* Good analytical abilities with the capability to interpret data.
* Proven leadership experience with a history of managing teams.
* Ability to build and maintain good relationships with both internal and external stakeholders.
* CEMAP qualification.
* Previous coaching experience.
* Performance management experience.

Some other highly valued skills include:

* Previous experience in a regulated environment.

This role can be based in London.

This role is deemed as a Certified role under the PRA & UK Financial Conduct Authority - Individual Accountabilities Regulations and may require the role holder to hold mandatory regulatory qualifications or the minimum qualifications to meet internal company benchmarks
