The Opportunity

Soben, part of Accenture, is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to join our growing team in Luxembourg.
This role offers the opportunity to lead the successful delivery of major construction projects across sectors including data centres, advanced manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, infrastructure, industrial, and mission-critical facilities.
You will be responsible for overseeing project execution from pre-construction through completion, managing contractors, coordinating stakeholders, ensuring safety and quality standards are maintained, and delivering projects on programme and within budget.
The successful candidate will combine strong construction leadership with excellent technical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills, helping clients successfully deliver some of Europe's most complex and high-profile projects.

Key Responsibilities

Construction Delivery & Site Leadership

* Lead construction activities from project mobilisation through to commissioning and handover.
* Manage General Contractors and key subcontractors to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards.
* Monitor contractor performance, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, project objectives, and programme milestones.
* Drive construction best practice across all project stages.
* Provide leadership and direction to onsite and project delivery teams.

Health, Safety & Quality Management

* Promote and maintain the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental performance.
* Ensure compliance with all applicable health and safety legislation, client requirements, and project-specific standards.
* Work closely with site management teams to ensure safe working practices are consistently implemented.
* Monitor quality management processes and ensure project delivery meets required quality standards.
* Investigate and report incidents, non-conformances, and improvement opportunities where required.

Project Planning & Programme Management

* Support project planning activities from feasibility through construction delivery.
* Develop and manage high-level construction programmes and project schedules.
* Identify critical path activities, long lead items, programme risks, and mitigation strategies.
* Monitor project performance against programme objectives and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
* Support project teams in maintaining robust planning and reporting processes.

Client & Stakeholder Management

* Act as a key interface between clients, contractors, consultants, and project teams.
* Provide regular project updates to senior stakeholders and client representatives.
* Lead project meetings and facilitate collaborative problem-solving across all parties.
* Build and maintain strong working relationships across the project team.
* Support the client in achieving programme, quality, cost, and operational objectives.

Design & Pre-Construction Support

* Provide construction expertise during feasibility, design development, and procurement stages.
* Review designs for buildability and construction efficiency.
* Support project teams in identifying opportunities for programme optimisation, value engineering, and risk reduction.
* Participate in design reviews and contribute technical input throughout project development.

Contract Administration & Commercial Awareness

* Manage project correspondence including RFIs, technical queries, change requests, and contractor communications.
* Support commercial teams in managing variations, programme impacts, and contractual issues.
* Work collaboratively with Quantity Surveying and Cost Management teams throughout procurement, construction, and project close-out.
* Ensure accurate project records and documentation are maintained.

Project Close-Out & Handover

* Oversee snagging, commissioning, certification, and project handover activities.
* Ensure all documentation, warranties, and close-out requirements are completed in accordance with client expectations.
* Support the transition from construction completion into operational readiness.
* Capture lessons learned and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential

* Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Project Management, Building Services, Architecture, or a related discipline.
* Significant experience managing construction projects within a contractor, consultancy, developer, or client-side environment.
* Proven experience delivering major construction projects from inception through to completion.
* Strong understanding of construction methodologies, site management, project planning, and programme delivery.
* Experience managing contractors, consultants, and multidisciplinary project teams.
* Excellent communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
* Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines.
* Proven ability to work effectively within complex and fast-paced project environments.
* Strong understanding of health, safety, quality, and environmental management principles.

Preferred

* Previous leadership or people management experience.
* Experience delivering data centre, pharmaceutical, advanced manufacturing, industrial, infrastructure, or mission-critical projects.
* Experience working within an international project environment.
* Knowledge of Luxembourg construction regulations and delivery practices.
* Professional accreditation such as MCIOB, MAPM, MRICS, or equivalent.
* Fluency in English, with French and/or German language skills considered advantageous.
