About the role
The Business Development Lead for emulsifiers is responsible to drive and support the profitable growth of emulsifiers in the Europe region You will drive Pipeline growth by supporting commercial teams to position emulsifiers in a compelling manner, aligned with customer needs and mobilize cross-functional teams to drive pipeline conversion and wins with target customers. You will support the relevant Commercial teams in working directly with Customers in Projects, Innovations, Presentations and Plant & Lab trials and Troubleshooting focusing on providing Sustainable Nutrition solutions to them. You will have an in depth understanding of the market and collaborate with the Global portfolio team in emulsifiers to take the global portfolio and position it as appropriate to the needs and opportunities in the Europe region, ensuring performance of the portfolio through customer differentiation and margin You will link with global / regional team on regular basis and share learnings / experiences to leverage our portfolio.
Key responsibilities
Customer Interface (Driving Value)
* Support Account Managers as first point of contact for emulsifiers in Europe to understand the customer need and to position emulsifiers to deliver value to our target customers
* Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure the core business is protected and defended.
Pipeline Management
* Pipeline Generation: Partner with Account Managers to grow the pipeline in line with target growth plans
* Pipeline conversion: Align the appropriate resources and ensure clear plans in place
Product & Growth Strategy
* Leverage product technology strategy and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to to ensure emulsifiers are embedded into category strategy and Europe plans as appropriate
* Ensure we have a clear growth plan for emulsifiers in Europe region
* Provide clear market positioning and right to win for the technology for Account Managers to execute with target customers
Technology Collection Optimisation:
* Drive performance of the collection in the Business Unit through customer differentiation and margin, leverage the breadth and depth to build value and drive market growth in line with bakery strategy within the region.
* Work with the Regional R&D Leads, Collection Managers and Global product managers to highlight gaps in the collections, support and train sales teams to position Kerry's collections with customers.
Pricing and Margin Management
* Ensure pricing strategies are aligned with technology margin expectations and address issues.
* Partner with regional sales teams to support the execution of pricing strategy.
* Provide market feedback on pricing to include market trends, customer and competitor insights.
Qualifications and skills
* BSc in Food Science, Food Technology or equivalent.
* Master's degree will be an advantage.
* Minimum 10 year in a Commercial/Business Development role within the Food Ingredient, non-Food / Oil industry.
* Must have technical knowledge in emulsifiers and experience of their use in food and non-food applications
* Highly motivated to win new business.
* Ability to identify gap areas & opportunities with a strong execution skills.
* Experience of working cross functionally with R&D, Operations and Finance in a highly complex, matrix environment
* Willingness to travel within the region to connect platform technologies including customer visits.
* Proven leadership skills to drive business strategy.
