The Siemens Certified Education & Talent Academy (SCETA) program combines theory and practice through work-integrated learning (WIL) for technical and professional students. The program offers a wide range of training in technical, interpersonal, and business acumen, and places students in impactful roles across Siemens Canada's businesses.
This role is intended for students who are finishing their 3rd year of a 4-year program or finishing their 4th year of a 5-year program, and who will have completed all degree requirements and graduated by April 2027.
The SCETA program begins with a 3-week paid orientation, followed by two work terms. Upon successful completion of the SCETA terms, high-performing students may be offered full-time employment with Siemens starting October 1, 2027.

Hourly rate is commensurate with experience, and ranges between $ 25 CAD - $ 26 CAD.
Role Overview
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled individual to join our team on a project basis to implement a Pick by Light (PBL) system on our factory floor. This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of industrial automation and software development, contributing directly to improving our operational efficiency and warehouse workflows.
This role reports to our Production Engineering Manager in our Concord, ON location, 5 days/week.
What You'll Do (Responsibilities)
* Design and support the implementation of a Pick by Light (PBL) system aligned with factory floor operations
* Develop and maintain Python scripts to integrate the PBL system with the existing Point of Use (POU) system
* Support configuration of Linux/Unix-based systems used within the PBL solution
* Apply basic networking principles to ensure reliable communication between system components
* Perform system testing, debugging, and validation to ensure accurate pick operations
* Document system architecture, configurations, and operating procedures
* Collaborate with engineering team members to troubleshoot hardware and software issues
What You'll Bring (Qualifications)
Required
* Pursuing a bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering.
* Must have: Linux/Unix, Python and basic networking skills
* Strong communication, documentation, and cross-functional collaboration skills
* Ability to thrive on the shop floor.
* Able to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced setting
* Curious, dependable, and motivated to learn in a hands-on engineering role
* You are a creative thinker with a unique ability to be resourceful.
