About the role
As the Category Buyer Facility Management within Global Real Estate & Facility Procurement, you will play a pivotal role in driving innovation, efficiency, and growth across the Category. It is the most critical area to enable workplaces to run smoothly and support SAP's growth. Operating with a truly global remit, you will support high-complexity, cross-regional strategic initiatives. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and external suppliers to.
You will support the development and implementation global Facility Management category strategy - establishing the vendor landscape, building global sourcing frameworks, and secure the application of robust governance structures that ensure consistency, transparency, and sustainable value delivery.
In close collaboration with the Global Category Manager FM and in partnership with senior Real Estate & Facility stakeholders, you will position Procurement as a trusted strategic advisor. You will help transform how FM Projects are planned, sourced, and executed across the organization-bringing forward more integrated, data-driven, and scalable ways of working.
As a connector across regions, you will collaborate with regional procurement teams, ensuring alignment with global priorities while supporting regional needs. You will also champion the use of data, digital tools, and AI-enabled capabilities to modernize the category, increase visibility, and unlock new opportunities for innovation and long-term value creation.
What you'll do
Sourcing & Supplier Performance
* Lead end-to-end eRFX and negotiations for FM & Catering-select fit-for-purpose contracting models and secure competitive, future-proof agreements.
* Own supplier and contract lifecycle-onboarding, SLAs/KPIs, QBRs, renewals, change orders, and risk mitigation-to deliver quality, value, and compliance.
* Drive operational excellence and governance across Source-to-Pay by standardizing processes, templates, and playbooks, ensuring policy adherence, and continuously improving P2P ways of working.
Stakeholder Partnership, Data & ESG Impact
* Partner with stakeholders and Sourcing Excellence to align scope, schedule, budget, and risk; self-organize your pipeline and stay closely aligned with the Global Category Manager FM on vendor strategy.
* Use market intelligence, analytics, and AI-enabled tools (benchmarking, should-cost, TCO) to improve decisions, performance transparency, and reporting on savings, KPIs, and supplier outcomes.
What you bring
Experience & Expertise
* 5+ years in procurement, with experience running complex, high-value, multi-market negotiations.
* Strong Facility Management (FM) procurement background, including knowledge of common FM service models and catering contract structures.
* Proven cross-functional and cross-regional collaboration to align priorities and deliver outcomes.
* Strong stakeholder partner with clear communication and negotiation skills; able to influence across functions and geographies.
* Learning agility and comfort navigating change in a fast-paced environment.
Digital, Analytical & Transformation Capabilities
* Data- and tool-driven, using analytics and procurement/P2P solutions (e.g., SAP Ariba) to generate insights and improve performance.
* Hands-on interest or experience in AI-enabled procurement, automation, and digital transformation to scale impact.
Qualifications
* University degree (e.g., Real Estate Management, Supply Chain Management, or Procurement) or equivalent experience.
* Fluent English and German required. Additional languages are a plus.
