Purpose of the role
To assess the integrity and effectiveness of the banks internal control framework to support the mitigation of risk and protection of the banks operational, financial, and reputational risk.

Accountabilities
* Knowledge of business areas, products, processes and platforms to be able to assess risk
* Collaboration with various stakeholders across the bank and business units to improve overall control effectiveness through detailed documentation of control assessments, procedures, and findings.
* Identification and investigation of potential weaknesses and issues within internal controls to promote continuous improvement and risk mitigation aligned to the bank's control framework, prioritised by its severity to disrupt bank operations.
* Development of reports to communicate key findings from risk assessment including control weaknesses and recommendations to control owners, senior management, and other stakeholders.
* Execution of reviews to determine the effectiveness of the bank's internal controls framework aligned to established and evolving policies, regulation, and best practice.
* Implementation of adherence to the Barclays Controls Framework and set appropriate methodology of assessing controls against the Controls Framework.

Join us as a Financial Crime Risk Manager working within our Private Bank and Wealth Management team based in Monaco.

The successful candidate will be working directly to support the Head of PB International Financial Crime Risk, providing expert support to the business in a number of areas. This will include supporting Front Office throughout the client lifecycle (from onboarding to exit), supporting the control environment through risk and issue management, governance reporting and management escalations, supporting audit and assurance activities, managing stakeholders in location/beyond, as well as support strategic initiatives. To be successful in this role you must be able to show resilience, flexibility and demonstrate a strategic mindset while building a comprehensive view of the business and interlinked controls.

The role will be suitable with someone with a strong Financial Crime or Risk and Controls background with recent working experience in Monaco with comparable Private Bank business knowledge also highly desirable. An ability to take responsibility and accountability for decision making evidenced through clear reporting and communication in order to manage risk, strengthen controls and support the business in achieving strategic goals will be required. Strong interpersonal skills and an ability to work with a variety of stakeholders at all corporate grades will also be desirable, including building relationships with key functional teams. This role offers flexibility and a dynamic portfolio of work covering multiple aspects of the PBWM business through the lens of Financial Crime Risk support.

The role may also include people leadership responsibility, with the successful candidate expected to support local team members in location and across the Global teams through direct engagement and feedback, assisting the Head of PB International Financial Crime Risk as required.

Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:

* Strong Financial Crime or Risk and Controls Background, including direct experience in Monaco with recent knowledge of local rules and requirements.
* Excellent communications skills, both written and verbal, in English.
* Analytical mindset to identify weakness in controls, and drive remediation.
* Ability to work collaboratively across stakeholder groups and produce key outcomes and deliverables.
* People leadership experience in supporting and developing talent.

Desirable Skills/Preferred Qualification:

* Fluent in local language
* Private Bank or Wealth Management business knowledge
* Project Management or Change delivery experience
* Relevant external qualifications
