About this role

Are you ready to Lead in a fast-paced finance environment? We are looking for an analytical Financial Accountant to join our Global Finance Operations team in Madrid. In this role, you will Deliver high-quality financial data for the Spanish market while working in a team that truly Cares about collaboration and professional growth. You will play a key part in ensuring reporting accuracy and driving automation projects that shape the future of our finance operations.

Location: Madrid, Spain (Hybrid)
Reporting to: Accounting & Insights Manager - R2R

These are some of the key components to the position:

* Drive the preparation and analysis of monthly financial reports to ensure high-quality data-driven decision-making.
* Execute month-end and year-end closing activities independently, including complex journal entries and reconciliations.
* Oversee payroll accounting and intercompany processes, ensuring accurate cost allocation and consolidation.
* Manage internal and external audit queries while maintaining strict adherence to International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
* Analyze financial trends and variances in key accounts to provide actionable insights to senior stakeholders.
* Lead process improvement projects aimed at automating accounting workflows through coding and data-handling tools.
* Maintain and optimize recurring reporting templates using tools like Google Sheets and Power Business Intelligence (Power BI).

What will you bring to the team?

* Professional accounting qualification or active pursuit of one (such as ACCA, CPA, or CIMA).
* Technical proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems and advanced data analysis tools like Excel and Google Sheets.
* In-depth knowledge of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and local Spanish accounting principles (Plan de Contabilidad).
* Strong analytical mindset with the ability to investigate discrepancies and resolve complex financial puzzles independently.
* Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to management.
* A proactive approach to self-learning, especially regarding automation, coding, and enhancing financial reporting efficiency.
* Ability to thrive and prioritize effectively within a dynamic, fast-paced international environment.
* Fluent in both English and Spanish.
