About the role
In this role you will be carrying out Maintenance on Rail OTM (On Track Maintenance Vehicles) based out of our Rail Plant Depot in Colchester. Ensuring that OTM Fleet reliability is optimised and subject to continuous improvement.
What you'll be doing
Be proactive in promoting a safe culture, report any unsafe acts or equipment through your line manager and the Close call system
Ensure that OTM (On Track Maintenance) Fleet reliability is optimised and subject to continuous improvement
Ensure spare parts are available
Be proficient in carrying out as required verbal and written reports on faults, repairs, maintenance, accidents and incidents
Training as required
Maintain OTMs to relevant VMI
Be proficient in and carry out as required the fault finding and subsequent repair "right first time"
Reliability of OTMs post maintenance completion
Maintenance complete to timescales
Maintenance complete as per company procedures/work instructions
Able to work split shift patterns as per T & C's
Able to be flexible around new working methods and LEAN
practices
Who we're looking for
Ideally served a recognised apprenticeship
Holds an NVQ L3 in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or Equivalent
Experience of mechanical Maintenance on any type of vehicle including; Military, cars, Coaches/Buses, Aircraft etc
Undertake road vehicle driving as required
PTS and DP as required
Ability to work to timescales/deadlines
Health & Safety awareness
Stores Knowledge
Must meet and maintain the appropriate medical standard for the position
