Summer internship 2026

Make a first step towards your career in software engineering. Gain practical experience and learn from experienced mentors.

Being a part of Infobip Engineering department means working on an in-house developed product and delivering solutions on a global level. If you are a student of higher or final year of studies in the field of IT, join our software engineering internship program that starts in July 2026 and get a chance to land your first job at Infobip

What this role is all about:

As a Research Intern, you will work on an AI-based communication product that enables person-to-person and group communication supported by a variety of AI agents. The role focuses on hands-on research and engineering work in an experimental, fast-evolving environment, where learning through practice is key. You will contribute to exploring and building foundational components of an agent-driven communication platform

At our six-month software engineering internship program you will:

* Work on an AI-based communication product with person-to-person and group communication capabilities
* Contribute to the development and exploration of AI agents and agent-based interactions
* Work with communication protocols and related system components
* Participate in research and implementation around MCP servers and supporting infrastructure
* Experiment, prototype, and iterate on ideas in a learning-by-doing environment
* Collaborate closely with engineers and researchers on exploratory and innovative tasks

What makes you a strong fit:

* Proficient in software engineering and coding
* Familiar with communication protocols and cryptography concepts
* Curious and motivated by challenges, creativity, and discovery rather than predictable work
* Fast learner who enjoys experimenting and growing through hands-on experience
* Comfortable working in an environment with evolving requirements
* Able to work independently while collaborating effectively with others
* Fluent in English, both spoken and written

Nice to have qualifications:

* Have a GitHub profile with projects to show

* Participated in student projects, Hackatons, workshops or other

* Already participated in some internship programs

* Are able to work full time after completing the internship
 
​Internship timeline:

* Application deadline (mid of May)

* Imocha online testing (By the end of May)

* Interviews and selection process feedback (June)

* Start of internship program (July 6th)

* Orientation week in Zagreb Infobip campus (July 6th - 17th)

* Working with the mentor and within a team (July - January)

* End of the Internship program (January)
