About The Team

Join us as one of the first interns on our LLM Global Data Team and be at the center of our operations. You will gain first-hand experience in understanding the intricacies of training Large Language Models (LLMs) with diverse data sets.

We are looking for talented individuals to join us for an internship in 2024. Internships at ByteDance aim to offer students industry exposure and hands-on experience. Watch your ambitions become reality as your inspiration brings infinite opportunities at ByteDance.

Successful candidates must be able to commit to one of the following internship cycles below:

* Summer Internship - 06 May 2024 to 26 July 2024 (12 weeks)
* Off cycle / Credit bearing - March 2024 or 12 August 2024

We will prioritise candidates who are able to commit to a minimum 3-month internship period. Please state your availability clearly in your resume (Start date, End date).

Candidates can apply to a maximum of two positions and will be considered for jobs in the order you apply. The application limit is applicable to ByteDance and its affiliates' jobs globally. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis - we encourage you to apply early.

Your Role May Involve

* Collaborating with product managers and algorithmic engineers to identify the most effective data in improving our LLM performance.
* Gaining direct experience in human feedback data production to understand the synergy between humans and data in LLM training.
* Conducting research and data mining to provide insight for data production strategies.
* Utilizing your critical thinking and research abilities to help us build better LLMs.
* Working on case studies and challenging data-related problems, which may involve minor coding, math, and physics problem-solving.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

* Professional proficiency in English with excellent or native-level writing and critique skills.
* A good sense of mathematical concepts and the ability to explain them (e.g. you can solve math problems and explain the solutions).
* Comfortable with meeting deadlines and generating creative solutions, including the use of technology and tools, to enhance the quality of both individual and team outputs.

Preferred Qualifications

* You must have a strong curiosity about AI.
* A deep interest in LLMs, human behaviour, and user experience is essential. The ideal candidate is an enthusiastic learner who finds engagement with diverse case studies and annotators stimulating.

Note: This role requires a paper test before interviews.
