Apprentice Simulator Technician
This apprenticeship offers an opportunity to join CAE, a global leader in training and simulation solutions, at our Cognac training centre in France. You will gain hands-on experience in a highly technical environment, supporting simulator operations while developing practical skills and building a career within the aviation and simulation industry
Responsibilities:
* Support the maintenance team with preventive and corrective maintenance on a range of simulators
* Progress from observing maintenance technicians to carrying out assigned technical tasks under supervisor guidance
* Perform basic hardware and software troubleshooting
* Collect data and prepare reports as required
* Document processes and assist with software review and documentation activities
* Provide general administrative support to the department
Minimum Qualifications:
* Relevant technical qualification (e.g., vocational qualification, diploma, Bac+2/DUT or equivalent) or practical experience in a technical or engineering-related role
* Demonstrated interest in technology and motivation to learn and develop in a technical environment
* Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
* Basic communication skills and willingness to collaborate with colleagues
* Commitment to complying with company security, data protection, and information handling policies
* Ability to use a computer and standard office tools
* Physical ability to bend, stoop, and work in confined or ground-level environments when required
Preferred Qualifications:
* Basic understanding of operating systems, applications, networks, and hardware installation and maintenance procedures
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Windows operating systems
* Diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
* Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions
* Ability to interpret technical instructions
* Experience documenting processes or supporting technical documentation
* Ability to work with limited supervision
