Our team optimises the use of physical spaces, ensuring that we align with organisational goals. This can include defining and evolving our workplace strategy, managing office layouts, seating arrangements, meeting rooms and the associated services required to ensure the successful day-to-day operation of our facilities - including the physical assets such as furniture, equipment, and infrastructure.

About the role

Are you dedicated to creating an exceptional workplace environment? As a Hard Services Team Leader for (COMPANY NAME), you'll ensure our physical infrastructure is as energetic and dynamic as our team.
This role is key to the success of the Facilities Management the Hull R&D site. Directly supporting Test Facilities, Laboratories, support offices and other general areas of the site and infrastructure You'll be the heartbeat of operations, making sure that every aspect of our facilities meets and exceeds both our needs and compliance standards.
The success of this position hinges on the day-to-day collaboration and leadership of our onsite service providers 24/7 365 days a year.
The very nature of this role means that a strong understanding of Health & Safety standards is key and promoting a positive attitude to supporting safety, regulatory compliance and quality is essential.

Your responsibilities

- Lead and support both maintenance contractors and sub-contractor teams, with day-to-day maintenance (Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) of the Hull R&D campus.
- Assist in budgetary planning and management, including raising of purchase orders, post approval management of receipts, accruals and amendments.
- Provide 24hr oversight of the site Building and Environmental management systems, ensuring the site is appropriately monitored.
- Work with the R&D and Quality teams to ensure regulatory compliance, including impact of non-conformance, ensuring any actions are closed off as priority.
- Report accurate utility costs, consumption data, provision of financial status, visible risks and remediation strategies in monthly Facilities Management reviews.
- Unify and influence teams to achieve goals efficiently and successfully, while driving cost efficiencies and continually improving process.
- Ensure all statutory provisions (plant and equipment inspections, registers etc) are maintained, raising any actions and giving feedback to quality and managers for escalation as required.
- Collaborate with Supply based colleagues on engineering / facility projects that have a mutual campus benefit.
- Develop, maintain and improve the accuracy of the electronic site asset management tool (FSI/MRI) ensuring that all maintenance tasks are scheduled via the system.
- Represent the FM team at monthly reviews, participate in H&S audits and ensure that (COMPANY NAME) maintains its operational and legal compliance.
- Collaborate to develop procedures for health and safety, which should be aimed at continually improving the maintenance offering.
- Support in updating and maintaining the site Business Continuity Plan (BCP).
- Manage Facilities Management based investment projects, aimed at improving and upgrading the infrastructure of the Hull R&D Site.

The experience we're looking for

-A good level of education (Ideally to HNC/BSc Level) coupled to an Engineering background and knowledge of mechanical & electrical systems.
-Proven field experience in a Facilities Management role, leading front-line maintenance of mechanical and electrical systems and services.
-Experience in a highly regulated role/industry.
-Strong communication skills with the ability to produce and maintain written reports and documentation.
-Strong financial acumen with the ability to monitor and control assigned budgets and resources, reporting financial analysis at stakeholder reviews.
-Demonstrable understanding of occupational health & safety practices, underpinned by a minimum of NEBOSH certificate.
-Proven ability to effectively prioritise and execute tasks in demanding environments.
-IT literate with proficiency MS Office 365 Office suite and the ability to adapt to bespoke IT systems.
-Flexibility to work outside of core hours as some evening/weekend working is required.
