AstraZeneca Romania is accelerating the expansion of our geographical footprint in Rare Diseases following the acquisition of Alexion in 2021. Rare diseases is a high-growth therapy area with rapid innovation and significant unmet medical need. Over 10,000 rare diseases are known today - yet less than 10% of them have an approved treatment.
We are expanding our Rare Disease team and recruiting a Field Force Manager to join our Commercial Team in Romania.
Role Overview
As an experienced Field Force Manager, you will lead a team of Key Account Managers (KAMs) and coordinate promotional activities across our Rare Disease portfolio. You will drive performance, capability-building, and strategic execution to maximize awareness of AstraZeneca brands, ensuring value propositions aligned to stakeholder needs.
The long-term goal is to build strategic partnerships and cross-functional collaboration with brand teams-grounded in a deep scientific understanding-to identify the best opportunities for our portfolio to deliver life-changing medicines to patients.
What You'll Do
* Team leadership and development: Lead, mentor, and develop the KAM team to elevate performance, capabilities, and scientific engagement.
* Strategic execution: Implement field strategies aligned with company objectives and brand plans; work cross-functionally to ensure effective rollout.
* Resource management: Allocate human, time, and budget resources efficiently within business plan parameters.
* Training and coaching: Drive continuous learning to achieve high levels of role expertise; conduct regular field visits, joint calls, and training sessions.
* Performance management: Set clear expectations, monitor KPIs, and conduct annual performance reviews to foster accountability and growth.
* External engagement: Proactively identify opportunities, tailor value propositions to stakeholder objectives, and recommend solutions to develop the business.
Qualifications
* Education: Bachelor's degree, preferably in a scientific or business discipline.
* Experience: Solid commercial field experience in specialty care portfolios.
* Skills and competencies:
* Leadership and team management: Proven ability to inspire, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
* Business acumen: Strong analytical and strategic thinking to translate insights into action.
* Communication and interpersonal skills: Excellent stakeholder engagement and influence.
* Organization and detail orientation: Strong planning skills with accuracy and rigor.
* Problem-solving and conflict resolution: Effective at navigating complex situations.
* Mindset: Proactive, performance-oriented, and innovative.
* Languages: Fluent in Romanian and highly proficient in English (business/professional level).
