Compulsory internship in the field of car engine development from August 2024

At the Mercedes-Benz Technology Center, we are shaping the automobile generations of the future. This is where the brand's technical expertise is concentrated at the Untertürkheim (engine and powertrain development) and Sindelfingen (overall vehicle development) sites.

The RD/EIG department is responsible, among other things, for the mechanical validation of internal and external engine tests on engine components and engine systems of 4, 6 and 8 cylinder gasoline engines, which are also developed together with cooperation partners.

The main tasks within the team include the planning, control, coordination and implementation of all development/testing activities through to global release.

The team's responsibilities include type support, thermal and NVH validation as well as component development for air-carrying components, belt drives and peripheral components such as brackets, noise insulation and supports. These components are tested outside the engine as well as in the overall engine and validated until they are ready for series production. As an intern, you will be actively involved in the day-to-day work of our development engineers and the planning, testing, analysis and optimization behind an engine ready for series production. Through close cooperation with various departments such as: Design, Test Bench, Assembly, Vehicle Testing, you will gain a comprehensive insight into the entire engine development process.

Your tasks during the internship:
* Accompanying the planning, provision of parts and support with engine assemblies
* Test bench support
* Support with engine findings
* -Support/execution of measurements
* Documentation of the results
* Support for clerks on specific topics

Qualifikationen

* Degree in technical studies (automotive engineering, automotive technology, mechatronics or a comparable course of study)
* Experienced with MS-Office
* German & English spoken and written
* Commitment and ability to work in a team
* Analytical mindset and strategic way of working
* Basic knowledge of engine mechanics
* Own practical skills in engine assembly are desirable
* Car driver's license is mandatory
Please note that your internship at this location must include a prescribed mandatory component.

The position is full-time, limited to 6 months.
