Project Title:
Maintenance Workflow Digitalisation and Information Optimisation in Diffusion Operations
Project Description:
This internship project focuses on understanding and improving maintenance information workflows within diffusion manufacturing operations. The project centres on studying how maintenance information is documented, transferred, and updated across systems, with the aim of identifying opportunities for simplification, digitalisation, and improved data quality. Through structured analysis and guided learning, the intern will develop concepts that enhance visibility, consistency, and efficiency of maintenance information management.
Objective of the Project:
The objective is to develop the intern's understanding of manufacturing maintenance workflows while building competencies in process documentation, analytical thinking, and digital workflow optimisation.
Project Scope:
* Review and document current Total Productive Maintenance information workflows
* Identify manual, repetitive, and error-prone information handling steps within maintenance processes
* Map maintenance data flows, system interfaces, and information touch points
* Develop digital and automation workflow concepts to improve information updates and tracking
* Propose a future-state maintenance information workflow focused on simplification and efficiency
Learning Opportunities:
* Exposure to maintenance and equipment engineering concepts within a semiconductor manufacturing environment
* Introduction to automation, digitalisation, and data-driven workflow improvement
* Application of structured improvement methodologies to real manufacturing use cases
* Collaboration with manufacturing and equipment engineers on defined project objectives
Deliverables:
* Documentation of current-state and proposed future-state maintenance workflows
* Analysis of manual information touch points with identified improvement opportunities
* Concept proposals for automation or digital workflow enhancements with expected benefits
* Final presentation summarising findings, recommendations, and potential impact
Impact of Project:
The project will contribute to reduced manual effort in maintenance information management, improved consistency and accuracy of maintenance updates, and enhanced visibility and reliability of maintenance data, establishing a foundation for future digitalisation initiatives.
Skillset Required:
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Ability to document, analyse, and improve work processes
* Interest in automation, digital tools, or workflow optimisation
* Basic data handling or scripting knowledge is advantageous
Course of Interest:
This project is suitable for students pursuing studies in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related disciplines.
Duration Period:
Minimum 5 months (full-time internship from Jul to Nov 2026)
