I wish I had known...
That I would end up buying a lot of cheap local clothing and other stuff, so I could have arrived with just a toothbrush and a towel ;) Take only the really necessary items with you and get all the rest locally, no need to bother with a lot of luggage.

The Asian Institute of Managment is a top-ranking business school in Asia, a regional centre in management education with a diverse student community from a variety of Asian countries (not only from Southeast Asia, but also a lot of students from India, and some from China or Japan, etc.).

I wish I had known...
I wish I had known more about the electives offered before going there. I also wish that I had known before, that doing an internship as required is not mandatory after all and that the school is not very helpful with assisting in finding one.

If you need to get credits for the courses at AIM than make sure you are majoring in finance or marketing, because there are only few other courses being offered and the final list of electives is not available until one week before start of classes.

I can definitely recommend to travel as much as possible. Go and see the beautiful islands and beaches, make a diving course and explore the underwater world - it's awesome. If you want to live off campus check out www.housinginteractive.com.

English is spoken widely and still somehow an "official" language, so you can interact with the local people in English. This was also a factor in my choice of country - in the Philippines you can also have a close contact with local people if you speak English - unlike other Asian countries like China or Japan. But even if English is widely used in the Philippines it's very useful to learn a little bit of Tagalog - it's not very hard and people appreciate it if you make an effort to learn their local language.

I wish I had known...
that one should try to bring as less as possible. Because you just buy so much there, as it is so cheap, that it is impossible to bring everything back!

housing in Manila is very cheap, the dorm costs 300$ per month and you get a much much better apartment for nearly the same price. Just stay the first days in the dorm till you find the right apartment, dont worry, you'll find one - and it is easier if you arrange it from Manila then your homecity.
