Best cafe - second cup. Favorite night spots are: Jet club, Newtown and Pistol. Events not to be missed are the Quebec city Winter Carnival, the Grand Prix, The Jazz Festival, and the University sports games.

Pourquoi?

Because housing is pretty adequate in Montreal. The experience of finding an appartment and living within a typical Montreal neighbourhood added to the experience of the whole exchange.

Most people speak English in Quebec, however there are a suprisingly large number of people who don't. The French language in Quebec is hard at first to understand for anybody who is taught from traditional French langauge courses.

More was spent on communication because cell phones have added charges in Canada. Nightlife was an added expense because at home I have more of an idea where to go for less. Travel was less expensive, as well as housing because my rent included all bills.

Health coverage, the University required their own student health care. To save on food costs the markets are a good place to buy groceries.

Expect the unexpected, get involved in as many school activites as possible and be sure to take enough money to travel as opportunities always arise.

If coming from outside North America, it's best to do courses which are a level higher. Also with Montreal being a Francophone city, it's best to take a course in French if you're not already French speaking.

Teaching style would be better based upon acquiring and the applying knowledge, rather than memorising.
