I had a great experience learning Danish, however it is extremely difficult and you have to be willing to force the Danes to practice with you!

It's necessary to learn a bit of Danish. People are more keen on answering if they feel we do an effort. BUT: everybody speaks English!

The Danish learning was not going very well. I did not really choose any intensive local language courses, rather focused on studies of other subjects. As a result, I still cannot speak Danish after 6 months.

Since I´ve lived with danish students only and also taken courses that have been taught in Danish, I´ve had the opportunity to speak Danish daily, which most of the intern. students haven´t been able to.

Languag of instruction was English and thus no problem for me. The language of the host country however was problematic to learn.

In Denmark really everybody speaks English! I didn't have any communication problems neither in social nor in academic life.
