Get Skipe or a simlar internet telephone to save money. Watch the exchange rate, when I went it was particularly good and changed a lot of money thus getting more for it.

When you get there, the bars/clubs/liquor stores all I.D. Therefore so you dont have to take your passport/driving lisence out and risk losing it, go to the Halifax Mall and get a "Novia Soctia I.D" It is govenment approved and everywhere accepts it as I.D. At only $14 it was well worth it. Buy a bit of booze duty free on the way over, you might as well, since your leaving the EU. You'll save a bit of dosh. Party Hard, make the most of it But above everything, go there with as much money as you can, save, save, save over the summer, apply for extra student loan from your LEA, maybe get a few hours a week part time job while your there if you can/want to because the more money you have, the more socialising/travelling you can do!

Make sure you are in Fenwick Tower on the 32/33rd floor, it was amazing up there. I could talk for hours on how good it was. Also make sure you ring Dalhousie Accomodation and ask to have a big room. The rooms up on the 32/33 are diffrent sizes and are all the same price so get a large one.

Pogues-The Irish Bar among others has some good live music. The Grad House is worth a drink in, as is the Rogues Roost, which brews its own beers that are very nice. 'Rain' and 'Pacifico' ranked as personal fravourtes for Nightclubs although the 'Dome' isn't bad either if you get a good group in.
