Learning Danish was a challenge but not a necessity, thank god because it's a really hard language. After two month of courses I was able to understand some ideas listenind to the radio and also to understand some writing things.
For the language of instruction (English) it was not really a problem before arriving and it was even easier after the journey.
There wasn't a big range of courses in my area (software), so I just studied random subjects (e.g. logistics and transport, international development co-operation). It was a bit hard to engage with the local students, they were a bit reserved.

I wasn't really there to study, so it was fine. It would be nice if the Danish students were a bit more open. :)
The prices in Denmark are just higher for these things.

I had heard that the cost of living was high, but I didn't know that it would be about three times as much as at my University. Learning to cook is a necessity with this culture, and it also saves you money- the food at stores is almost all the same, so go to the cheaper ones, i.e. Netto, Aldi
The dormatories at DtU are very well equipt. They have Cinemarooms, kanuos, and other stuff they are not so expensive and there are a lot of other students. It si also good to get in contact with danish people

It is not easy to get a room at a dormatory, because appartments in DAnmark are expensive, but ones you have one it is usually really good.

my english is becoming better and better each day I spent in Denmark since I lived with 5 other internationl students and we spoke english together. After the first days, when I was sure I would not speak to anyone for the all year, because of my bad english, I found out that try to speak english can be fun and it helps a lot to get new friends

My advice is to have a previous course in danish, or study it there.That´s the best way to get to know danish people, either be very open person and talkative.
