Overall
For not one second have I regretted choosing ESADE as the university of my choice. The courses are not structured as traditional university classes, instead they remind a bit of high school: attendance is mandatory, homework and weekly quizzes and lots of teamwork. I believe that this is a great way of keeping students motivated and up-to-date with course material and avoid procrastination. Additionally, this great emphasis on team work greatly prepares each student for their future working life.

Our teachers have shown incredible knowledge and teaching abilities, each one coming from a diverse background of work experience. The only reason for the loss of one star in my overall rating is the somewhat unorganised, for example I have had lots of trouble choosing and receiving electives (we need to reach a minimum by the end of our studies), lastly having to resort to choosing some that I was not personally interested in. Also now during the pandemic, the communication was very bad: we received very few emails updating about new rules and regulations. At first we were told that uni would restart in April, one day before classes started we still had no official communication from University (it did not start).

But overall, I am extremely happy with the quality of the campus, teachers and courses. The city is a also amazing.

It is well equipped university with not that many students. So far, I like the school except the expensive food cost here.

I would like to get a internship in Barcelona during my stay. I hope I can get an opportunity to work in a different environment other than in my hoem country.

It teaches in Castellano, which is excellent to learn the language. Therefore, however, the english language skills of the staff as well as the students, are quite unsatisfactory, although they do not seem to notice themselves. So for their sake, english should be more widely used and taught.

When you arrive, go and find the barcelona housing service. It´s on internet, the university knows about it, as well as any other information point. This service provides housing for students, in international houses. I used it, too. Great experience!

ESADE is a private school with top-notch facilities and easy access to teachers and resources-try to make an effort to meet your teachers and take advantage of job interviews and company presentations.

Barcelona is an amazing city with lots to offer-make an effort to meet the local students (which might be more difficult than meeting international students) and you will be rewarded with lasting friendships and experiences.

The local (catalan) students at ESADE tend to be a bit snobbish and somewhat hard to get in contact with. But there is a great Norwegian "community" at this university that you should get in touch with, especially for cultural activities and nightlife experience! Also nearby university IESE (across the street basically) has a lot of foreign students.

Join some of the cultural and sports activities as soon as possible. Good for language training, making contacts and finding people to party with. Take initiative and form your own groups, fx a dancing group, food group, health center & aerobics group...etc. Do not choose to live in Sitges, even though the apartment prices during winter are low there. It takes too long to travel into town, you get isolated from social activities. Don´t choose downtown either, the area around Ramblas is too "heavy" and noisy to be able to study in. Fun to visit - bad to live there!
