I spoke basic spanish (castillian) on my arrival, but improved a lot during my stay. On the street and between friends, people speak catalan, but they didn't mind switching when the "foreigners" were present. Fun, because I also got to learn (at least understand) some catalan.

Food and in general everything is cheaper than in Norway. Nightlife is generally cheaper in Barcelona, but I went out more than I do at home, so I spent more:-) Same for travel.

Personal recommendation
Some of the courses are quite "ligth" in the academic sense, they are not very challenging. But there's a lot of practical work which I haven't done previously. Some people felt there were little new to be learned, but I was satisfied.

The street of Maria Cubi has lots of "hot spots" where people from ESADE hang out, but Barcelona offer endless oportunities for every taste.
