Estonian is a quite difficult (14 cases) but very interesting language. You will no need it for the daily life in Tallinn as nearly everyone can speak English, but it's nice to have notion about what is written in a newspaper or what people in the street are talking about. At university your perfectly come along with a profund English knowledge as the whole international BBA or MBA is in English.

Courses for international Students are being held in English, as most teachers mother tongue isn't English the language used wasn't difficult at all, but always seemed to be a little limited in expressions... but it was okay. I took some classes in estonian, but as it is really hard to learn and hardly anyone is speaking it (about 1 mio. people ;-) i put more effort in learning some russian (which is also offered by ebs) than estonian language!

as English is spoken by most Estonians I didn't really need to learn Estonian, but of course I learned some phrases and so on. My English improved a lot as I spend lot of hours chatting with Americans and Canadians.

I studied at a private university, founded by Canadian teachers, within the International bachelor. I had no problems because everybody spoke gladly English both inside and outside the academic life.

I enjoyed learning some of a completely foreign tongue, and tried to use it, rather than english, where possible. The locals, particularly the older sections of the community appreciated it.

Tallinn is a city where a lot of people can speak more than 3 languages. It is a very nice experience to improve my language and communication skill here.
