as English is spoken by most Estonians I didn't really need to learn Estonian, but of course I learned some phrases and so on. My English improved a lot as I spend lot of hours chatting with Americans and Canadians.

Academic
Course recommendations
Some subjects I chose weren't that nice after all, but still learned a lot. Some teachers hard to connect with as EBS is a private university and the teachers and professors have other things to do then just teaching. Especially my Psychology and Sociology class were very interesting.

The way of examining was a bit chaotic, which sometimes made sure I wasn't well prepared for a test. But as I always went to class this was never a real problem, but it is if you're a lazy bastard who rather sleeps then pays attention!

Nightlife: Although you learn a lot from an Erasmus trip, it's also Party Time! The drinks in Estonia are cheap, but as we went so often in the end it became quite expensive. Food is not so expensive if you stick to local products and going out for dinner is bill-wise lots of fun! Clothes and luxury products are quite expensive and is better to buy in Russia if you have the opportunity to go there.

My univerisity provided my books. What suprised me negatively was the brokers fee for my appartment of 600 euros... better try to find an apartment from another international student whose house you can take over!

I wish I had known...
That it would be such a life-changing experience! I left with the feeling 'I will be back in a few months', but now I don't want to go back to the Netherlands and prefer to go to another country or extend my stay in Estonia for a while.

Personal recommendation
Expect something copletely different if you're not used to private universities (I wasn't). Everything is possible and this sounds positive but can work negative if you're a bit lazy. If you put effort in you're work you'll easily receave a C or B-.

Travel tips: Russia! Not as dangerous as everybody says and really beautiful. Also Riga, Stockholm and Helsingi of course (take the Viking line, crappy but cheap!). Within Estonia: VIsit Narve, this is an Russian villiga, Tartu, THE student city of Estonia. Also Rakvere (for historical touch in your stay) and Parnu (beautiful in summer, don't go there in winter) are worth a visit.

Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - My choice
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because it is an excellent way to get to know other international students. The advantage of an apartment however, is that you feel more 'local' and get to know more locals.

As I couldn't find an apartment myself I asked help from my university. I didn't have the feeling my tutor was tryig his best to find me one, but in the end together we found a place to live.
