Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
it was cheaper, we had a lot of space, the apartment block was very secure, we were in a safe area, and some of our friends had problems with the on-campus housing (no kitchen facilities)

The cost of living in Montreal is significantly lower than in the UK. However, as you end up going out all the time, this is no guarantee that you actually end up spending less!

The banking system is Qc is pretty antiquated, and you need to book an appointment to set up a bank account. This can sometimes take several weeks.

Housing around campus gets easy to find around June or July, but before that be prepared to be charged a higher rate. If you could wait, wait until the summer to secure housing.
