it is my native language, although if it wouldn't have been, I don't think I would have had any big problems. Many people in the Netherlands speak some level of English.

I didn't learn much Dutch, just the basic phrases! It was a result of interacting with too many other international students. But everyone in Amsterdam speaks English!

the accomodation was very expensive and unclean. The room was very small. But in the student house were so many other foreign students, which helped to meet other people.
