As a whole, the experience itself is rewarding, even the setbacks make you stronger. On the other hands, the school could make the experience even a more pleasant one for foreign students. This could be done with only small changes in attitudes, organisation and requirements.

go to poland is not so far from Netherlands, it is perfect for student (it is cheap). be careful of the adicts in the Red Light District, but they also sell the famous Dutch bike for a cheapest price than in a shop (10/15 Euros not more) go to the Melkweg for concerts. go to Rembrandt Plein to have a glass on a sunny terasse. enjoy your life in the Netherlands...

It takes a very independent, practical rather than theorical approach to education, you learn by doing, which works in ways but also has it's drawbacks.

Make the most of your experience, travel as much as you can, wrap up warm in the winter as it is very windy in the winter! Find out as much as you can about where you are staying so you know where you need to go to get into uni. Research the nearest cities before you visit too.

If you haven't lived abroad before, think twice before leaving. If you are not fond of teamwork and socialising, don't bother. Be open-minded and accepting and you will have a great time!
