Housing
Type of housing: Apartment/House
Arranged by: Independently - I had no other choice
If returning, I would choose: Apartment/House
Why?
I shared my apartment with a fellow student and the apartment was great. You are more independent when you live on your own.

Personal comments
The university did not provide accommodation to students if they didn't stay longer than a year. But I saw the accommodation they provided and I like my appartment so much better.Although it was more expensive.

for the best cafe you should go to cha-cha-cha,it is an undergroundcafe next to the metrostation. In Budapest there are so many beautiful places to see, the palace, the fishersman bastion, the lights during the night. Even the university is a great place to see. It is a really beautiful city, I was proud to live there and come out of my appartment every day looking around how amazing it was.

I wish I had known...
Where I would stay. I didn't know where I would stay. I had a meeting with a agency, who would help me finding a place to stay, but I didn't know more than that.

University has a large group of international students all taking part of the ISC program. The courses are highly interactive and the social life is the best.

Final comments
Budapest is a central point going to other countries like, Austria, Czech Republic, Poland, and other countries. It is not expensive and there are trains to almost all destinations. If you go to Budapest without having a place to stay, you should contact Blue line, they will help you finding a place to stay. You pay sometimes a bit more, but the places are great. Budapest is a great city and I would advice everybody to go there and get some experience in a other country.

Academic
Course recommendations
The courses were interactif, the groups were small and therefore the interaction was good. The only thing is that some teachers should improve their English to be more secure about what they are doing.

Personal comments
They are doing already good work in hiring international teachers and inviting international speakers. The only thing is that they should not treat the international students in such a special way as they sometimes do.

Personal comments
Most of the time we were talking English, because international students don't really integrate with the Hungarian students. So most of the time it was English, and because my home study is in English as well. I didn't have any troubles in communicating with others.

My accomodation was more expensive, although I was sharing my apartment. The telephone was really expensive as well. The prices in Budapest are more or less the same as in Holland, only public transportation is really cheap.
