Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Host university
If returning, I would choose: On campus
Why?
Because London is so expensive, living on-campus is the best you can hope for. Prices are between 70-90 pounds per week, and you cannot find a decent accomodation for less than twice that much! Also, living at a student hall provides you the means to meet other students.

Personal comments
Don't expect to get any value for monet. This is just an apsect of life in London you have to accept. If you can, go for accomodation in an inter-collegiate hall of residence (and not an Imperial College one) - chances to meet more people.

London has many excellent places to spend your free time (you won't have much at Imperial). Just go and explore it. There is everything to suit every need and every budget.

Personal recommendation
Imperial College has a very good reputation should you subsequently apply for a job. You also come across very able people there. But you have to work hard and can rely on absolutely no help (or even sympathy) from academics.
