Japan is *very* expensive due to the costs of living...I wouldn't have been able to cope with the costs had I not been on the full scholarship which paid a sufficient amount of stipend each month.

Commentaire personnel
Most students are on scholarships at the universities. Even students on private funds are able to apply for scholarships later on. There are also opportunites for earning a lot of money - and many people make huge savings - if you have the time such as teaching English or working in the library or computer labs.

Logement
Type de logement: Sur le campus
Organisé par: Université d'origine
Si j'y retournais je choisirais: Sur le campus
Pourquoi?
Since the campus is located a little away from the nearest city, it is more convinient to stay, with decent transportation and reasonable accomodation. Plus you get to interact with a wide range of people from various nationalities

Commentaire personnel
It's pretty decent, and they have provided facilities to get most of the bare necessities. Other extra things that people may want is available at very reasonable prices during the flea markets, which are put up in campus almost once a month

Commentaire personnel
The university teaches in English and we were allowed to take Japanese as a second language. The Japanese courses were very intensive, but we had little opportunity for practise as most of the students are international students and we did not get much chance to mingle with local Japanese students our age or the local community, though some students did have a language exchange partner and joined some Japanese culture clubs.

Recommandations de cours
There are not a lot of courses as there are not a lot of students. Classes are small, but you get to develop a pretty close relationship with the teachers and supervisors.

Perhaps more activities and less arbitrary grading, and possibly many other areas for students to develop their skills such as more student organizations, field trips, study groups, presentations, etc.

For students wanting to live and work in Japan, after the course completion, learning the language is a must. There are only a handful of companies who would emply you without Japanese skills. If students are open to Jobs outside Japan, then you can comfortable survive without learning japanese. The main language in the University is English
