Best trattoria to eat at is Trattoria Giorgio. It's inexpensive and you get fantastic local cuisine. While in florence, one should visit the Piazza Repubblica, Uffizi Gallery, Via Tornabuoni (best shops!) and check out a soccer game.

As I previously stated, I had a wonderful experience taking Intensive Italian for the entire school year, and my study was easily supplemented by making Italian friends (some of whom didn't speak English!).

Course recommendations
I took 18 credit super intensive Italian and I am so glad i did. You learn a lot whereas my roomates took 6 credit Italian and knew a ton less. It's worth the experience to be able to speak the language
