I wish I had known...
I retrospect, I probably should have worked for a year or two, before going to SAIS. With a limited amount of workexperience, I would have gained more. I wish I would have known how strong the dollar would be/have been vis a vis the Euro!

It is the top in its field. Unlike other IR grad schools, SAIS in located in the heart of DC, offers an equal load of IR politics AND international economics, and offers the possibility to study for a year in Nanjing China, or Bologna Italy. Take the opportunity to travel, meet people, network. The options are limitless, it is up to you to make the most of it.

Very good program, which leaves enough flexibility to create your own personal curriculum. Outstanding professors with international and politcy experience. One or two classes, are not at graduate level so there is still place for improvement.

Definitely try to find a plave close to the university in Adams Morgan or Dupont Circle. This is where everything happens at night. It's a little bit pricier than other areas, but it is definitely worth it.
