There are the "Quais" (docks) on the left margin of the river La Garonne which cuts Bordeaux in two, there you can find asubstancial concentration of nightclubs and bars, the town center is also on this side of the river. I recommend the traditional "Quartiers" like St Pierre, St Michel or Place de la Victoire. Also the Place de Gambetta area specially for good Kebab shops, which abund in bordeaux anyway... Favorite cafe is Cafe des Arts, nice terrace, not too crouded and with live music sometimes (Jazz, chanson, african), there are lots of very nice bars in the St Pierre area, also very much like the historical center of Bordeaux, the town center is just enormous, plenty to do, lots of pedrestian areas, nice shops and a very captivating wine culture...

The Foyer in the school is very good. People are nice and beer is cheap, but they only serve beer if you want alcohol. Another place is the Red Lion on Point Rouge. Great atmosphere and ok prices. It is pretty hard to get transportation home from these places though. You have to take a taxi if you wann stay after 11.30 pm.

The names have sort of slipped my mind by now, but there were a lot of places at Place de la Victoire. Also, a fun place was an Irish pub called Connemara. Outside the city...beaches, vineyards, ols villages, castles, etc. There are a lot to see - spend the weekends wisely (don't spend them in the city).

At least twice a week, I went to the café in hte school, which is ran by students; the atmosphere was great, I met a lot of people there and the beer was Belgium and cheap. What more do you want? In the towncntre, there weren't that many good café's open in the evenig. The two best were Shamrock, an Irish pub, and the Exit, both located at the Vieux-Port. There is also a club there, Trolleybus, which is very nice.

The school parties 'soirees sup de co' happen once a week and they are quite fun. There are a few other 'soirees' organized by other schools that are decent too. Apart from that, nightlife is okay, with quite a Spanish feel sometimes

I love Bazaar , always will! Expensive but worth it! and (Millennium) while it was still in existance. All in all, the school organizes weekly parties in bars and discos which is great. And of course , we have an in premise bar in school that serves beer after 4pm.What more could a student ask for after a hard day in school.
