Sweden is a country where almost everyone speak english, it is veru convinient on one hand, at another it makes a little bit difficult to learn local, swedish language, however there are good possibilities to learn swedish at host university, in my case Royal Institute of Technology, for free, as a cource included in your studies

I have been a Ph.D. student, and usually for doing reserach one is beeing financed, however, being a erasmus student one usually have some financial support from a family, or have some extra-job to earn some additional money
