in europe, it is not easy to save at all. even with having to eat food, you are having to resort to kebabs, the relatively cheap food, or always cook pastas.

Final comments
actually travelling from belgium is not as cheap as some people might think. yes the location is in the center, but i think it would be cheaper if you were travelling from london or frankfurt. there are cheap airplanes like :easy jet, ryan air, wizz air, but all these depart from charleroi so getting there from leuven will cost you around 22 euros return so if taken this into account, it is best just finding a regular plane very quickly.

Housing
Type of housing: On campus
Arranged by: Home university
If returning, I would choose: A room exchange
Why?
i would rather find a room myself then use the one found from school because the price was really expensive (around 350 euroes per month) while other housing cost around 220~280 euros

best cafe: de werf (cheap but good quality food and drinks), ron blacks (good atmosphere to drink cocktails at night, de rector (good place to just dance and chill). at the grote market there are a lot of bars so at night time, you could just have your pick. there was a fair during winter for a month and it was nice.
