Most Koreans do not speak English, most younger people do and in and around campus you can find plenty of these. The Korean language is handy to learn when you head in to town and is especially handy outside the city.

In the University there was no problem using English to comunicate with other exchange students and teachers, but it was a big challenge to communicate with local people.

Most of korean people did not speak english, but at university half of students talked english and they wanted to communicate with me.
